GarinFull

Garin Hurlbut has been employed by Turning Stone Resort Casino since September 2001.

He started his career at the casino as a project porter in the Environmental Services Department.

It was here that he was introduced to the cleaning industry and spent a good portion of his time doing marble restoration throughout the resort.

His interest in the cleaning industry blossomed, and he sought to learn more and expand his knowledge base.

Moving Up

From Project Porter, Garin, quickly worked his way up the leadership ladder and held positions as a team leader, then supervisor and onto his current position as assistant manager.

For Garin, the cleaning industry isn’t just his job; it’s his career.

In one conversation with him it is very clear the passion that he has for his position, his department and most importantly the industry as a whole.

This passion along with his personable attitude makes him a great leader for our department.

Garin is a people person and he has a way of communicating with others that makes it easy for people to come to him for assistance whether it is work related or personal.

Learning And Effort

Learning is a lifelong adventure for Garin and he is always looking for ways to learn more and to be up-to-date on the latest trends.

He has completed several industry related training courses and currently holds the advanced Journeyman designation through the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC).

He has also completed the Self-Study Program to obtain the Certified Executive Housekeeper designation from the IEHA.

Garin puts forth 100 percent effort in everything that he does.

He comes to work with a smile on his face, and his pleasant personality is contagious to those around him.

He is a team player and truly feels that every task is completed as a result of collaborative effort from multiple people.

He acknowledges the efforts of all involved and gives recognition to others as deserved.

Garin can be heard during his on-site inspections offering positive reinforcement to the staff for a job well done.

He encourages each team member to do their best and to better themselves by taking advantage of the resources offered by the casino.

He is a motivator and an individual that leads by example.

Away From Work

When Garin isn’t at work he can be found enjoying the company of his family and friends.

He currently resides in Mexico, New York, with his loving wife, Stacy, and he looks forward to the two of them celebrating their 12th wedding anniversary in January 2014.

He is the proud uncle to his wonderful nephew and niece and loves spending time with them and teaching them new things.

In his spare time, Garin also helps out his father and uncle at the family owned business, Maple Help Stock Farms.

He also enjoys helping others in the community as well.

He and Stacy donate to various organizations throughout the year.

They are currently raising money and awareness for the Special Olympics of Central New York by participating in the Polar Plunge to be held on December 8.

It is an honor to work with Garin and I look forward to many more years of continued success.
