I am a hourly paid employee working as a HVAC Technician for a Oil Company. My employer communicates with its Technicians via cell phone, all delivery drivers and technicians alike use this method of communication. The cost of this business expense is paid for by the employer. My employer now proposes to shift the burden and expense of doing their company related business via cell phone to its employees. This would require employees to purchase cell phones and plans to conduct business with them and their customers at the employees expense. Is this legal. I work in Connecticut, I am non union. This will be a condition of employment as soon as a new policy is written. hvac training programs
